Thank you for your interest in Shaw Education Trust. We are a vibrant and ambitious community of primary, secondary and special schools, serving children and students aged 2-19 years. We are also proud to work in partnership with a specialist independent college for students aged 16-25. Our students are at the heart of everything we do, and we are extremely proud of the success they experience within our schools. Our vision, 'opening doors to the world through the power of learning', demonstrates our commitment to all our students and staff and applies equally to every single person within our Trust.
Culture is extremely important to us: we believe the way we behave towards each other shows who we are, therefore, we live and breathe our values of Opportunity, Integrity, Community and Equity. We are a trust where people are valued, where differences are celebrated and where everyone belongs. This is something that you can feel when in our schools and head office. Our colleagues in schools and in the central team work towards the same goal of ensuring every child and student has a first-class education in the most holistic sense and that every colleague has the opportunity to grow, contribute and flourish professionally.
We value individual school identity and celebrate the individual contexts of our schools; we support leaders to deliver high-quality curriculum and opportunities that are important for their students locally. Beyond the benefits our schools provide, the SET Dividend is vitally important to us. This refers to the added value we bring to children, students, staff, schools and communities over and above what the school can bring alone. Our strength as a Trust comes from all 32 organisations in our community uniting for the benefit of individuals and the collective across the Trust. SET exists to ensure we make a positive difference to our schools and we never forget that.
We currently work across a broad geographical area, from Bury to Birmingham, from Derby to Cheshire, however, we do have ambition to grow, driven by our moral purpose: our schools do great things for students and staff and we want to spread our brilliant practice further afield, as well as welcoming future expertise into our Trust. Even though we are already a substantial Trust, we are a community of equals, where the voices of our members are kept front and centre.
I hope that the pages in our website answer any questions you may have and give you a flavour of us as a Trust. We invite you to contact us if you would like to find out more or if you are interested in joining our Trust, either as an individual or as a school or MAT - our doors are open to you!
