The Meadows Primary School, with the support of Shaw Education Trust, are delighted to announce their plans to open a self-contained early years setting catering for two-to-five-year-olds.
Following a forthcoming consultation with parents, the school hopes to create a purpose-built space, located a short distance away at Madeley School, which will accommodate the Meadow’s Reception class, as well as a year-round private day Nursery.
The idea behind this is to help ease children’s transitions from a Nursery to School setting, with the planned building boasting blended classrooms, outdoor learning environment, play area, family-style dining and state-of-the-art Apple technology.
The space will include a specific parking area to ease drop-off and collection routines for parents/carers, as well as offering extended provision from 7.30am to 5.45pm for Nursery and Meadows pupils. There would also be the ability for the school to run holiday provision which would be available to children of all ages.
Meadows Principal, Helen Procter, explained: “Our new stimulating environment will support children as active learners, provoking their interest and enquiry as they begin their learning journey with our school family, from a very young age.
“It will enable children to develop the broad range of knowledge and skills that provide the right foundation for good future progress, through school and life beyond.”
Chief Executive Officer of Shaw Education Trust, Jo Morgan, added: “We are committed to supporting local families and the wider community. The opening of the Meadows Nursery will enable us to provide children with a high-quality, all-through provision – from nursery care, to primary and secondary education.
“It is an exciting time of development for the school and we look forward to working closely with the community to provide first-class education to all.”
