Jon Rouse was appointed as Chief Officer for the Greater Manchester Health and Social Care Partnership, in July 2016, to co-ordinate the delivery of Greater Manchester's strategy for the transformation of health and care services, 'Taking Charge Together', as part of the wider devolution plans for public service reform.
Previously, Jon was Director General for Social Care, Local Government and Care Partnerships at the Department of Health. Other previous roles include:
He has also held a wide range of non-executive positions with organisations including English Partnerships and Homelessness International, and was a non-executive director on the Department of Health’s board until 2010. He was previously chair of the Society of Metropolitan Chief Executives.
Jon has a first degree in law, Masters in business administration and urban policy and an honorary doctorate in urban design. Jon is also an honorary life member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Royal Town Planning Institute. He has recently completed the Major Projects Leadership Academy at the University of Oxford.
