Helen Taylor - Headteacher The Meadows Primary Academy

Having left University with a BA Hons in Geography, Emma started her career in the world of business book sales.  However, after feeling like something was missing from her life, she made the decision to return to university to complete a PGCE and embark on a new career in teaching.

Upon completion of her course, Emma started her teaching career in a school in North Staffordshire.  Following this, Emma has worked in two large primary schools in Stoke on Trent.  Through her work as a head teacher, Emma has established a strong leadership team who thrive on a model of distributed leadership. She encourages staff at all levels to take ownership; to be innovative and solution focused. This approach inspires staff to engage fully with their role and creates opportunities for them to develop at an accelerated rate, confident in the support of the team.

Throughout her time as a teacher, senior leader, head teacher and as a school improvement partner, she has clearly demonstrated her passion for ensuring the best possible outcomes for all children – especially those who live in areas of deprivation.
