Wolstanton High School are delighted to announce they have been awarded the School Games silver award for excellence in PE and sport.
The School Games mark is a government led awards scheme to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community.
Commenting on their participation, Head of School Mary Hobson said: “We are delighted to have our consistently high-levels of enthusiasm and commitment to school sport recognised.”
By participating in the process, Wolstanton High School have been able to evaluate their PE provision and develop an action plan for future progress.
Being awarded a silver status means that the school engages in a vast number of competitions across different sports within school, district, county and nationally, as well as works alongside local sports clubs to give students opportunities in the local community.
Mrs Hobson concluded: “Sport plays an important part in our daily school life and we continuously strive to ensure physical activity is promoted.
“This award is a testament to our PE department and all their hard work in providing pupils with new and exciting sporting opportunities.”
