There was cause for celebration at Great Barr Academy yesterday as a linguistically-skilled cohort revealed brilliant GCSE results.
Students achieved, and in many cases exceeded, targets in modern foreign languages, with top grades being awarded in more specialist subjects including Italian and Polish.
The Year 11’s successes in language is consolidated by improved English and mathematics results which saw a rise in the percentage of students who achieved grade 5+ in both subjects, as well as an overall increase in the number of students who achieved the Ebacc.
Great Barr’s approach to teaching and learning ensures students’ academic and creative natures are appropriately nurtured. With improved results in core subjects and top grades being awarded in a range of courses, such as textiles and dance, the approach is clearly having a positive impact on student outcomes.
