Shaw Education Trust opened in October 2014 with three special schools and less than 500 students on roll. Fast forward 3 years and Shaw Education Trust has grown to over 4500 students on roll in ten academies across Staffordshire, Birmingham and Greater Manchester.
Over the past three years, Shaw Education Trust has worked tirelessly to improve the performance of its academies, bringing in specialist practitioners to support academy leaders and their staff teams. The dedication to improving student lives and their overall success is really paying off as Madeley School achieved the highest percentage of year 11 pupils achieving grade 5 or higher in GCSE Maths 2017.
The latest addition to the list of academies is The Meadows Primary School in Madeley. As a small primary school, this brings Shaw Education Trusts total primary age pupils on roll to c. 500, truly establishing the trust as a multi-phase multi-sector trust.
Jo Morgan, Chief Executive at Shaw Education Trust said “The past three years have seen a rapid expansion in the number of academies joining us. We place high achievement at the heart of all we do and we are determined that no child should have their opportunities limited by their background, or by their ability. The recent addition of The Meadows Primary School further shows our continued desire to grow, develop and drive to achieve greater student success.”
Helen Procter, Head Teacher at The Meadows Primary School said “Joining Shaw Education Trust is a fantastic move for the school as we now have access to greater levels of support than ever previously. This will allow us to use the expertise of the trust to further enable our students to grow, develop and mature into successful adults.”
